History

Adrianne Arena-Jacobs began dancing at the age of 3 at Nancy Lee's in Coraopolis. At age 9 she went to Ronald Matty's studio where she later became a teen assistant for dance classes. Adrianne went off to college at Point Park University where she earned her B.A. in dance. While in college, she taught at Ronald Matty and OLSH in Moon Township and also worked for Don Brockett Productions in Pittsburgh.

In pursuit of a performing career, Adrianne moved to New York City in 1987. She worked with various theaters, touring companies and cruise lines throughout the U.S and Europe. Adrianne moved overseas and worked for a European T.V. station and taught master dance classes.

Adrianne eventually moved back to her hometown of Moon Township where, in 1994, she opened her own dance studio teaching family and friends. Classes were held at the Elks in Moon Township and the Cresent Fire Hall. Originally called Arena's Dance and Aerobics, Adrianne went on to open a small, one room  studio in 1995 on Moon Clinton Road.

As Arena's Dance and Aerobics began to grow, the need for more space and staff became necessary. The studio moved to Flaugherty Run Road in 1996 where it became Arena's Dance Centre and remained for many years. While at this location, Adrianne opened a satellite dance studio down the road in the shopping center at the corner of Brodhead and Flaugherty.

Arena's Dance Centre continued to grow with new students, staff and the demand for new classes. It once again became necessary to expand and so Adrianne purchased a three story office building on Brodhead Road in Moon Township and began the long process of renovation.

With a new name, logo and location and after many years and several moves, the small studio that opened to family and friends in 1994 had transformed into Arena's Performing Arts Centre. The move took place in 2007 and the Brodhead location continues to be the home of Arena's Performing Arts Centre.
